Headphones no longer detected after Linux kernel update 4.8.0-27.29
Hey guys!
I have a Dell XPS 9550 laptop. I'm running vanilla Ubuntu 16.10. I'm using proprietary Nvidia + Intel drivers (sorry rms...)
Headphones, headsets, mics, etc have always worked. Usually when I plug one in, a dialogue will appear and I can select what type it is.
This morning I ran "apt-get dist-upgrade", and it upgraded to Linux kernel 4.8.0-27.29. I then performed a reboot. After this, I could not get headphones to work.
If I plug them in (tried multiple pairs), I get no dialogue box. Under Sound Settings -> Output, there's only "Built-in Audio". The sound will just play through the built-in speakers.
I tried suggestions in:
- https:/
- https:/
But they did not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
I noticed the following change in Linux 4.8.0-27.29:
- ALSA: hda - Fix headset mic detection problem for several Dell laptops
Might this have something to do with it?
Thanks guys!
Ben
