Dell XPS13 new install 16.04 won't boot

Created USB stick to upgrade from pre-installed 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS on Dell XPS13. After finishing installation, doesn't recognize it and won't boot into the new installation. Live session worked fine... any suggestions?
