If you open a terminal and try to run dcopserver from the command-line what messages (if any) do you get?

Hi
Thanks for your help
I typed dcopserver into the terminal "just that word"
The first time I got nothing
then I tried again and
I got this message.

It looks like dcopserver is already running. If you are sure
that it is not already running, remove /home/goof/.DCOPserver_Beast__1
and start dcopserver again.

I seems to be working today
maybe it was one of those things
Thanks for trying
Regards Neil

so dcopserver wasn't running - the first time you typed it, you started it.
The second time you typed it, you got a warning that it was already running.
Hopefully it was "one of those things" and it'll start automatically next time.
