Ubuntu 16.1 did not install well.

Asked by Computerguy40

I have a Acer Extensa and I had nothing but problems. I even tried Unity 8 it sucked. its boring and useless on a laptop. I hope Ubuntu 17 gets it together I'm very disappointed in 16.1 I went back to 16.04.1 .

I wonder what went wrong with 16.1 , 16.04 is great my only complaint is the lack of AMD support. When I installed 16.1 My computer froze and would not respond. I was forced to turn off the power to get control back. I restarted several times and had the same issue. I install the proprietary driver and it still happened. My computer is Acer Extensa 4620 laptop. Any Thoughts?

You will need to use the open source driver.

You may benefit from using the latest kernel in the mainline PPA.

Can you help with this problem?
