Firefox Web Browser - Recently Bookmarked

Using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with all upgrades to date
and Firefox Web Browser 49.0

Bookmarks appear under Recently Bookmarked (which is greyed) even when preferences is set to Never Remember History and even after Clear all Current History .

How to prevent items being shown under Recently Bookmarked?
Or any way to delete these?

Any suggestions.

There is a drop down menu on the right upper corner of the web page which allows the recently book marked items to be hidden.
