mixing of English and Khmer fonts

In Ubuntu 16.04, I have installed both English and Khmer language fonts. In some displays with file manager and in Evolution, the display mixes Khmer and English. For example, in Evolution's display of the date, the month is identified by a Khmer number, while the day of the month is an Arabic (English) number. Properties of a file are displayed like this:
