silverlight plugin for firefox in ubuntu 16.04

I tried installing silverlight via pipelight on Ubuntu 16.04 ( I dont have wine installed)
it seems the plugin is not active on firefox and the following error is displayed.

Pipelight Error (silverlight5.1)!
File libpipelight-silverlight5.1.so
MIME types application/x-pipelight-error-silverlight5.1 (Error during initialization: pipelighterror-silverlight5.1)

Have you contacted the PPA maintainer to report the issue?

Does it work in other browsers?
