Ubuntu compatability

I've been looking to install Ubuntu on my laptop and I was wondering if it was compatible, I have a DELL ISPIRON 6000 that currently runs Windows XP, I'd appreciate it if someone could tell whether or not it would be possible.

Ah, that article details someones experience with V 6.06, I was hoping to install 6.10

You should have as good or better experience with the newer version. And testing is only a Live CD away :-)

To clarify what Williamts99 said, if you boot with the LiveCD, you can test out Ubuntu without actually installing it. If it works fine in the LiveCD, chances are it will work after installing it. It is just running off the CD and RAM and it doesn't ever write to the hard drive until you tell it to install.
