Don,

If your hardware meets the requirements then you can run the following in a terminal:

    $ sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager

Then navigate to:

   System > Preferences > Advanced Desktop Effects Settings

Using that, you can set 3D cube up. You may also have to change Workspaces from 2 to 4.

I have another problem. I can't add more workplace in my ubuntu. When I right click on workplace icon there comes a dialog box to add columns and rows. I made 2 each. But I don't know why I can't see other desktop and also I can see only 2 workplace on the icon shown in desktop, others 3d are ok.

Hope to get some good solutions.
