Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop cant find my wireless internet connection.

OK, i have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837 and Ubuntu 8.04. I've read all the other articles saying "iwconfig and to download software but i CANT GET ON THE INTERNET. Im duel booting with Vista and a it works on that. I have and Atheros WLAN and it says its enabled and in use but in the Network it says im connected to a direct ethernet connection but i cant get online. I have a netgear wireless router. I looked at all the help icons for the internet but it leads me to things that arent there. EX: Enable wireless connection, DONT HAVE IT!!! NEED HELP -masterJ

and see if your chipset is the same; if yes just proceed implementing this howto.

if not, pls post here output of

lspci

and

lsusb

commands; somebody will help you further.
