ubuntu need program to open

when i try to open the file it says i need a program to open then it gives a list
but none work

You need to provide more information on what you're trying to do. Think about file type and tried programs.

when i first downloaded i used roxie to burn it to cd i put the cd in my other pc but it did not work so i tried to open it but it opens with roxie? but does not open it opens roxie

If you downloaded the .iso image to create a LiveCD, follow the directions here for burning the image to a cd-r.
