rhythmbox does not play the audio files at times

Asked by joseMaestro

Howdi,

I'm back, with another question.
I'm having problems with my audio. I just fixed my sound problem when playing flash movies. However, now I'm experiencing a different issue because I cannot
play audio files with rhythmbox.
The thing goes like this:
1. I start Ubuntu, and If I Play audio files (ie. mp3) using rhythmbox everything is fine.
2. I load a Flash movie with audio, and It works fine too. But...
3. I try to play another audio file using rhythmbox and stops working. does not play anything at all.
* Sometimes audio for Flash movies stops working as well.

Could you please help me out! I'm trying to stabilize my Ubuntu.

Good Luck,
Jose

You're hitting a bug in Flash. It doesn't really plays fair by claiming to audio for itself so other applications can use it anymore. You may want to file a bugreport against the package flashplugin-nonfree, but it's in multiverse so it may not have the priority wanted. The other option is to deinstall flash.

How could one restart the audio or stop Flash from claiming it? Do I need to restart the system or is there an easier way?

Can you help with this problem?
