each time i choose a software for downloading, a prompt notifies me that ubuntu has not upgraded or there simply is no download key to activate the process of downloading. why is this so? thanks.

If you would like support, please install Ubuntu 16.04.1 or one of the other OFFICIAL Ubuntu variants. (like Kubuntu,Lubuntu, Xubuntu, etc...)
