Unfortunately you cannot install the packet via Synaptic packet management. So there's a bit more work to do than just to enter one single command into a shell. ;-)

The installation manual under [http://www.unixtree.org/ftp/stable/INSTALL-UNIX] already describes the proccess briefly. What exactly is your question?

To do Ubuntu command line stuff, you have to open up your terminal. Click on Applications > Accessories > Terminal.

then you can follow the instruction on http://www.unixtree.org/ftp/stable/INSTALL-UNIX

if there is any permission problem, you have to add "sudo " (without quotation marks) in the beginning of the command line and type in your password when requsted.

For example if the command is:
fdisk -l

and then it return any permission problem, you may add:
sudo fdisk -l

to make it work. Good Luck!!

You can also try: ytree it may be something like unixtree

Using System->Administration->Software sources [Ubuntu software tab] please enable (Check the checkbox) all the showed repositories rows.

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install ytree

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

hope this helps

Yeah, I hope it doesn't sound to arrogant but you shuldn't use UNIXTREE when you cannot install it. I'm quite sure this renders the whole thing useless since you have to have at least a basic understanding about computer systems.

Unfortunately I do not have the powers to change the state of this question to SOLVED, EXPIRED or INVALID. Someone here at Launchpad either grant me that permission or simply apply the change in state to this question, please.

Can you help with this problem?
