hi, Bhavani shankar.

thanks for u r guideline. I resolved my problem. i am anew user to
Linux. i don't know much about Linux. i used the following way to
install windows xp and Ubuntu.

first i tried to install ubuntu when i have windows already installed.
But the partition manager dosen't support the installing, rather it took
entire hard disk and make new partitions for installing linux. So, first
i installed ubuntu inside windows os. That is in a ntfs partition.

Next unexpectedly i left the Ubuntu CD in the drive itself, and i booted
the system. the system defaultly booted from the CD. when i tried to
install Ubuntu now, it identified all windows partition and it defaultly
took the ntfs partition where i installed ubuntu inside windows for new
installation. finally i got it. I installed ubuntu this way only.
