Defragging the hard drive

Is there a way to defrag the hard drive using Ubuntu 6.10 edgy,
or are there any defrag packages available?

If you are talking about defragging the Ubuntu partitions then generally speaking you just don't need to. Some partitions types can become slightly degraded when they get very full (over 95% for example) but on the whole it's not required.

I use shake.
You also need to edit fstab and apt-get attr and libaatr-dev
