There is a problem with terminal:

Asked by drock

When I try to open the terminal I get a popup that says:
"There was a problem with the command for this terminal: Text was empty (or contained only whitespace)"

I made an icon on the desktop to xterm and that works but I'm new at this and don't know how (or if I can) get from xterm to terminal. I'm trying to add a splash screen.

So my main problem...terminal won't open-help :)

Was this a clean install or an upgrade? Also do you have this issue with the live CD?

it was a clean install.
It worked originally, I just noticed it recently.

I don't know if this helps or anything, but I have a shortcut to an SSH on my desktop that I can use. It runs through the gnome terminal and everything works fine, but I can't get the terminal to work unless I'm logged into an ssh or whatever. Like even when I'm working in the ssh in terminal I try to open a new tab and the error pops up.

I don't know about live CD. what is that and how do I check?

Does your home directory exist ?

Usually it is /home/<username>.

Or did you run out of space of your root partition or the partition of the /home folder?

Can you help with this problem?
