Installing MySQL Database on Ubuntu 6.10

Hi,

I have installed Ubuntu 6.10 from the desktop cd. Can you please guide me how i can install and get MySQL Database up and running on my desktop.

I would appreciate if you can also provide some information about installing various free tools for mysql.

the ubuntu help site (http://help.ubuntu.com) has a very detailed guide on getting a LAMP settup (linux, apache, mysql, php).
hopefully this should answer all or most of the questions you have and guide you though the process :)
