Running Win XP inside Ubuntu 8.04 and vice versa

Asked by Ron

Hi,

Is there a way to run Win XP inside Ubuntu 8.04 without booting out and starting grub just to go to my legacy OS? Sometimes i need to access programs and files from Win XP but i have to get out from Ubuntu to do that. I dual boot Win XP and Ubuntu by the way. Is there any software (freeware please) that i can use to do this task? And can i do it also the other way around (running Ubuntu inside Win XP)?

Thanks a million for the help.

Yes, you can install windows in a virtual machine using virtualbox - then run it under Ubuntu - just like an application.

I'm not sure about running virtual machines under Windows.
