Faiulres in update Maneger

When I check for updates a 34 updates show up but the process get terminated and I receive the following message

"W: GPG error: http://security.ubuntu.com hardy-security Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <email address hidden>
W: A error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used.GPG error: http://ae.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <email address hidden>

W: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead."

Hello

Make sure the apt source is up to date, make sure you have what you want ticked in the software sources, and change the server please

Click System > Administration > Software Sources
Click the Download From menu and choose other
Click the Select Best Server button and wait till it finds one.
Click Choose Server
Run the update manager again.

Thanks. Your suggestion seem to resolve the problem. I am new to Linux and Ubuntu. I am very impressed by the whole experience.
