Adding DDR Memory

I have a K8M800-M7A motherboard with 512MB memory. I added an additional 512MB memory and the machine will not boot with both cards. What is the proper way to add the additional card?

No, they are both PC3200 400Mhz. I checked this before I ordered the new card. I am at a loss as to the problem.

No no beeps, just a blank screen when turned on.

You should contact your local computer shop for this problem. There are too many factors we don't know.

I am forgetting about the upgrade for now and continuing with my life as is.
