New to Ubuntu- Help needed( As soon as possible)

Hi people.. well to start i already installed "Windows -XP SP2".... and have plenty of Hard disk space.. I love to use LINUX... and got the physical copy of "UBUNTU 8.04" desktop edition... I need to know how to install the OS with Step by Step of instructions.. Am not familiar with too much of technical terms either so reply with simple terms.. So can any one help me with this ? Also " I WANT MY XP PART TO BE UNTOUCHED I MEAN I WANT DUAL BOOT".. i wanna access my XP also.... I got the " Nortan Partition Magic"... So please help me... thanx guys... waiting for ur replies.....
