I have down loaded Bit torrent&piratebay.org I cant get it to work what did I do wrong

I loaded Bit torrent and piratebay to my system ,they gave indication they loaded fine but unable to find them on my system.I have looked all over .what do i do know.

Go to the Pirate bay, find the torent you want, when you click to download it should give you the option to open wtih your bittorrent client.
