When I remove a printer is the driver removed also?

Hi, I've been trying to get my canon pixma ip660d printer to run with ubuntu 8.01. I've been to turboprint with no luck. I've tried removing the printer to reinstall with a different driver. When I removed the printer did the driver go with it or did I install a second driver on top of the first? Thanks,Paul Leptic

No, the driver still in the computer database. You remove only a configuration file for your printer.
