How to make new layouts appear in the configuration dialog?

Asked by J. Pablo Fernández

Hello,

I've created new layout keyboards as you can see on: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xkeyboard-config/+bug/245911

How do I make those new layouts appear on the keyboard configuration tool on the System menu?

Thanks.

Look into /etc/X11/xkb/base.xml. Maybe for these few chars with diacritics an on-the-fly Xmodmap script is better.
The XML file will be overwritten every time xkb-data is upgraded.

Hello,

I'm making my own xkb-data package to make it easy to use my layouts. Do you know if base.xml is autogenerated?
