viewing pptx files

i am not unable to open presentations in pptx format. is there a way to see them in ubutun apart from saving them as ppt files.

Currently there is no other option than to convert them. OpenOffice 3.0 will have support for those new file formats. You should be able to download the public beta at the OpenOffice website but I don't think this will be available in Hardy any time soon.

This is one of the downsides of people using proprietary file formats.
