Hello, no, was not installed. I make the move, I try to run Rosegarden and said again the message. Then I run the Jack Control, I play start, I open the Rosegarden and everything is ok! But why must run first the Jack Control?

No, not exacly ok, I don't have any sound and after opening Rosegarden I have a message who say: General audio file import not available. Rosegarden could not fine one or more of its additional programs needed to support its audio file conversion helper. To fix, install: sox, or sndfile-resample.

Hi again, cp
System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager/Settings/Preferences/General/ and select "consider recommended packages as dependencies" /Apply/OK
System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager/Settings/Repositories and be sure all software is selected
System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager/Search [rosegarden] without the []

I would suggest complete removal of the three packages, then reinstall, and hope everything is rosy.

Dear friend, I make the changes, but still have the message who say: General audio file import not available. Rosegarden could not fine one or more of its additional programs needed to support its audio file conversion helper. To fix, install: sox, or sndfile-resample. What should I do?

Hi, my next (perhaps should have been my first) suggestion is install medibuntu
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

hope that helps

I read this article. I don't know exactly what to download, I am very new in Linux!

Thats OK, cp

these instructions may be easier for you than the instructions in the article, but fix rosegarden anyway.

System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager/Settings/Preferences/General/ and select "consider recommended packages as dependencies" /Apply/OK
System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager/Settings/Repositories and be sure all software is selected
System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager/Search [ubuntustudio-audio] without the []
Select and install both packages

If this doesn't fix rosegarden it will mean going back to that article and we can study it more carefully

cp,
those packages may take a long time to download.
While you wait, I think it would be a great idea to mark this question solved because you now do have audio jack installed.

That way, anyone else with an audio jack problem can see your problem has been solved, and it may solve their problem also.

Then, ask a new question called 'Help-Rosegarden ex #38982'

That way, people who know more about rosegarden than I, and people who themselves want help with rosegarden, may give and take more information than otherwise possible.

Finally would you please give one last reply to this message, 'Failed to connect to JACK audio server' explaining you have started a new question and include the new question number #

Thank you

Thank you Tang for your help. I download the ubuntustudio-audio and the problem with Rosegarden about "General audio file import not available. Rosegarden could not fine one or more of its additional programs needed to support its audio file conversion helper. To fix, install: sox, or sndfile-resample" has solved. I think your proposal to start a new question about Rosegarden is good and I'l starting soon as possible. Chris.
