Software Interface Modules not found to run program

Asked by d.creger

I loaded Keycreator, a CAD program which requires both a license file and a Software Interface Modules (SIM) (also known as a hardlock or a dongle). The SIM connects to a USB port but the system cannot detect it. How can I get the SIM identified to run this CAD software? (WINE loaded it very readily)

Hello Don,

If you cannot get Keycreator, which is a programme written to work in MS Windows, to work in Wine, you may like to consider some other options:

1. Install Keycreator in Windows in VirtualBox running on Ubuntu - no guarantee that the USB dongle will work.
2. Use a Linux CAD programme. There are a few listed here http://www.roseindia.net/linux/linux-cad-software.shtml
