Ubuntu pre-installed want to replace with xp

Asked by chris_ormond

I have recently bought a new laptop from Dell, Inspiron 1525 and it has come pre-loaded with Ubuntu. I do not wish to have this Linux based OS on my laptop and would rather stick with Windows. I cannot see any way in which to format the laptop or remove Ubuntu. I have tried booting from disk with XP inserted but it says it cannot find my hard drive. I do not have any sort of dual boot system running as it is brand new.

Any help would be more than welcome.
Cheers

This is a problem in Windows XP setup. Windows XP CD doesn't have the driver for your hard disk, so you'll need the driver on a floppy disk during installation. You'll need a USB floppy drive to load the driver needed in XP setup.
