Sound support for Realtex ALC882M Audio chip

Asked by meveng

I have no audio in my new Ubuntu 8.02LTS 64-Bit server installation on an Asus P5W DH motherboard. Everything else works perfectly. Is support for this audio controller included in Ubuntu? Maybe all it needs is configuration. This is the only issue I haven't found any help searching with Google. I am new with Ubuntu although I have considerable experience with Red Hat Linux. Maybe the answer is already somewhere in this forum but I haven't found it yet. What to do? Thanks.

Hi meveng
Double clicking the top panel sound icon then Edit/Change Device will show some installed options. ( Take care you don't mute sound on the way out. )
More info is at System/Preferences/Sound
