remove windows95 from my computer

I have windows 95 currently installed on an old computer and would like to know how to remove it so that I can load a light weight linux program

You can remove any kind of operating system with formatting the partition and installing another (or the same) operating system on that same partition.

If you'd like to get rid of Windows 95, just start the installation of the new OS and follow the installation procedure. It's really easy ;-)
