i didnt get sound in Ubuntu,my motherboard is intel 915GVWB(onboard sound card).

i have onboard soundcard,
motherboard is intel 915GVWB,i m not getting sound after installation of Ubuntu 8.04,i tried 3-4 times..but same problem faced,
i have download codecs,so i can see video & play mp3 songs..but all things are doing without sound.
using same DVD(Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron)...i got sound automatically after installation on many systems of my friends PCs.

how can i get sound on Intel 915GVWB?

Have you tried opening the volume panel applet and checked that connections are open?

yes i have checked all connection...thats are ok..

& i check whether they unmuted or arent...
default device it has been taken is ''HDA intel (Alsa Mixer)''.
