How Do I Set Up An HP Printer in Ubuntu 7.10?

Asked by taurus on 2008-07-01

I bought an HP F380 printer and I have ubuntu 7.10. When I connected the printer to my computer, my computer did detect and install the driver automatically without me having to insert the CD. However, the printer will not print anything. What should I do?

Check that de paper size in the printer properties is the same in the printer settings of the program you want to print from.

thats not the answer.

I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 as my first Linux. Everything looks good, but nothing happens when I tell it to print and it doesn't seem to rrecognize a blank CD in the burner when I tell it to write to disc. If anyone knows what to do in either case, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance.

First, internet explorer...you must do this question in a general question, not in a question that other user create and...see wich that question message is talking about.

Second:

Hi Again:

Please be sure that your printer is the default printer. go to CUPS and see it. Test it with "Print a Test Page".
Then, if it works, make it default and all could be ok.

See you!!
