Intrepid kernel I/O accounting support

I would like to know if the kernel of Intrepid Ibex (Ubuntu 8.10) will get support for I/O accounting.

As it seems hardy doesn't have support for it, because this path doesn't exist.
/proc/self/io

This feature is interesting for this little program called "IoTop".

sorry my mistake.

/proc/self/io exists.

So my problem seems to be solved ;-)
