My numberpad, with numlock on, logs me out of my computer

Asked by Hellminer

My number keypad, with num lock on, logs me off my computer when I push the numbers. Same reaction with num lock off. Only certain numberpad keys are logging off. How can I fix this extremely annoying problem?

Further research (and a ton of relogging in) has found that the number locked keys do work on my startup screen with no problems. It is only after I have logged in that the aforementioned logoff problem with the number pad keys happens. Thanks again to anyone who can tackle this problem

Please be sure there is no mouse linked to numeric pad go to menu:

System->Preferences->keyboard... Keyboard (Tab: Mouse Keys)

Uncheck (Allow to control pointer using the keyboard).

Select from the main menu: System > Preferences > Assistive Technologies
Check the box labeled: Enable assistive technologies
Click the button labeled:Keyboard Accessibility
Select the Mouse Keys tab
Un-check the box labeled: [ ] Allow to control the pointer using the keyboard

hope this helps
