I've removed viruses from pendrives just deleting the files from the pendrive. I've never used antivirus on Linux.

Yes. till now i am doing same thing. But when so many folder, file infected it will be very tedious to remove virus manually. is there any antivirus for linux that scan for windows virus and remove when detected. I am also convinced that there is no need for anti virus for linux but i still want to protect my window partition

You should be able to manually delete the infected file because Win viruses shouldn't be running under Linux. If you are looking for alternative AV for Linux, you should check out ClamAV (it's available in the repositories).

You can make AVG to auto delete infected files.

Just edit the file ~/.avg7/config/default.cfg

Inside the [test_config] section add a line like :

clean = True

This should work.

Javier.
