Vmware stopped working after latest kernel-update

Asked by gizzmo

Hi
Aber Upgrading Gutsy-Kernle to Version 2.6.22-15, Vmware stopped working.
The packege "vmware-server-kernel-modules" is only available vor 2.6.22-14.
I use vmware-server from the "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ gutsy partner"-repository.
Will the vmware-server-kernel-modules be built for 2.6.22-15 or is support for Vmware in Gutsy discontinued?

Yes, they will. This is 'normal' -- modules for vmware are "delayed". You have thwo options: 1) wait (and use old kernel), 2) build it yourself.
