Hello, you must install wine first before using it...

open synaptic: then look for wine and install... after that... ytou should be able to right-click over the .exe file and have the option to open it with wine

have a look here tho.. http://ubuntuland.nireblog.com/post/2007/09/22/35-cool-applications-to-install-on-ubuntu-804-hardy-heron

i had install Wine before but i did it through 'add/remove programs' thing, which i know is the wrong way to install anything but i couldnt find it in the synaptic. (i didnt have the medibuntu repositories). ill have to do that.

thanks Santiago Zarate thats extremely helpful and has probably fixed my problem (i say probably as i dont have my computer with me so i cant test it), but this question is still open to any more info. and suggestions as i could still have the problem, and still need assistance past the install point.

thanks.

The "Add/Remove" thing uses the same repositories as Synaptic so it should be present there and it does not require the medibuntu repositories.
