I mean I want some tools to convert all my ape files to ogg files, is there any program for it.

it sounds that these two tools can't deal with ape format.

From the audio-convert page:

a script to convert wav, ogg, mp3, mpc, flac, ape or wma files into wav, ogg, mp3, mpc, flac or ape files.

audio-convert call 'mac' to encode and decode ape files, but as the README file
said:

        * mac: to encode/decode mac's. can't remember where i found it. look for it. it's out there : ) but really, if you find it, type me the address in an email! thankyou! : )

Monkey's audio can be played using the unofficial plugins for either the bmp or xmms music players, found here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=123827

You'll have to compile those programs yourself, though.

As it is said in http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/5655/ , Audacious can play APE files. You can install Audacious through Add/Remove applications.

I also tried jlGui but it does not work at all.

Hopefully APE files can be played easily with Totem some day.
