Ubuntu Installation problem

Asked by Edmund

Hello,

I downloaded Ubuntu 14.04 iso off bittorent then I wrote it on a USB.

I was able to boot from the USB and reached the installation menu, however upon "pressing" the install button, it shows me the ubuntu logo then it proceeds to windows recovery window.

Why can't it install?

thanks for any help

How did you put the data onto the USB?

I used rufus which I downloaded online.

Its the usb that is the problem?

That's fine. Just making sure you didn't just copy and paste the data.

If you select to try the OS instead, does it boot OK?

It works well when I try it rather than install it. I even tried connecting to the wifi and browsing internet, it worked.

OK then run the installer from there.

I did, and like I said in the first post, I went through all the installation pages, and when I get to the page where I actually "install", it gives me a "ubuntu" loading screen and then it goes directly to my windows recovery screen.

Can you help with this problem?
