If you enable the medibuntu repo you can install acroread with

sudo apt-get install acroread or use synaptic or add/remove

To install the repo follow the information for your version of ubuntu

To do that open a terminal - copy and paste the whole line of commands for your chosen version and enter

Then copy and paste the GPG key line and you should be able to install it as shown above, if you get an error there are many instances of it on the forum which should be easy to follow
