can't seem to upgrade to hardy from fiesty through gutsy

Asked by tackleboxx

Ok here's the situation(and I hope it's not too unique)....I'm trying to upgrade my system to hardy but I'm getting a few problems....first I waited to long to upgrade to gutsy from fiesty and now budgetdedicated no longer upgrades wine so I can't upgrade through the upgrade tool. No problem I'll download the iso and make a disk to just write over feisty......for some reason feisty recognizes my harddrive but Hardy won't it keeps asking me what the driver is....I looked all over for it and cant find one that's on the list I'm hoping someone can help me.....My hard drive is a Western Digital WD1600AAJS 160g I either need to find a work around for the non upgrading wine(which I already upgraded but the upgrade doesn't recognize) or find the driver that will work on the huge list that the live cd gives me for my harddrive.

I would disable any 3rd party repos you have - wine, medibuntu etc. and then try to do the upgrade.

I've never had a problem with not recognising hdd's can't help with that.
