how to make a video CD

hi there...
Using Ubuntu 7.10

I've downloaded some movies and i tried putting a 699mb movie onto a 700mb CD by selecting "make a data cd" when i put a blank CD in. It worked and the file is on the CD but when i put it in my DVD player it says "BAD DISC".

Any ideas??

maybe try burning it to a DVD disk instead of a CD disk.

Hi,

try the Programm DeVeDe that helps you to convert Videos to VCD/SVCD/DVD-Format. You can install it via synaptics or in a Terminal by typing: sudo apt-get install devede

thanks for your replies.

I give your ideas a go.

Also i found that you can try Avidemux. it has an option in the AUTO tab, here you can choose from vcd, svcd, dvd and psp.
