Here is the general download page for ubuntu

http://www.ubuntu.com/products/GetUbuntu/download?action=show&redirect=download

With AMD processors you can use either the standard release

http://releases.ubuntu.com/edgy/ubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso

or if you have an 64-bit AMD processor

http://releases.ubuntu.com/edgy/ubuntu-6.10-desktop-amd64.iso

You need to burn this .iso file as an image to a CD. Here is a link to a screencast that shows you how to do this.

http://doc.ubuntu.com/screencasts/

I hope this helps, if you have any more question please come back and ask them.

Hello !

If your processor is 32 bits, a regular ubuntu (desktop CD) will do the trick (no special software needed)

If you have 64 bits (Athlon 64), you should use the 64-bit PC desktop CD

In any case, you can find everything you need here : http://releases.ubuntu.com/6.10/

You can download an iso image and burn it or buy a CD ... Everything is pretty clear on the web page ...

Hope this will help !

Regards,
Benoît
