No Norton 360 wont work with Ubuntu cause is only written for Windows (XP,Vista). When you are searching for Virusscanner you can just take ClamAV (which is included in the Ubuntu Repos). You can install via Synaptic (Paket clamav and clamtk) or via terminal by typing: sudo apt-get install clamav clamtk

Another Option for Scanning for Viruses is Aviras Antivir which you find here: http://www.free-av.de/de/download/download_servers.php

Hope that helps you

Hello

Viruses arent easy to program in linux because of Ubuntu/Linux has very CLEAR definitions of groups and users, file ownerships and permissions.. So In ubuntu/linux if at all a virus is there it can affect only the user who ran the program.. And because of the file ownerships and permissions the USER will have a control over the system unlike in windows where the OS has control over the machine.. This makes Virus development in linux difficult to say the least..

Ref this article for more info:

So dont worry mate Ubuntu is a linux os not windows

2+ years on ubuntu 2+ years no AV

Relax
