What version of Kubuntu are you running? 6.10 (Edgy)? 7.04 (Feisty) -- which is still in development? or 6.06 (Dapper)?

Also did you enable root as well?

Trevor,

Two quick notes:

1. 6.10 is not LTS (long term support) only 6.06.1 is currently in long term support.

2. In my Feisty box I was able to install Kompile without any problems.

Can you make sure your system is up to date and then up date this bug? Also are you planning on upgrading to Feisty when it releases?

Trevor, are you using Ubuntu or Kubuntu?

If Ubuntu (Gnome based, predominantly brown theme) then it will not have the kdesu program installed as that is part of the kdebase-bin package.
