LIVA Bat-Mini Intermittent USB under Ubuntu 15.04: Flash Problem?

Asked by Elynk

I installed Ubuntu 15.04 on an ECS LIVA Bat-Mini PC. It worked beautifully until, in retrospect, I had to install Flash to get a video to play.

After a while, I got pop-up messages that Flash needed to download some additional files, but couldn't. At the same time, the USB functionality died, disabling the keyboard and mouse.

Later, I couldn't boot the PC with active USB at all, unless I first accessed the BIOS setup routine, then exited it.

Even after a successful boot-up, after about 15 seconds, the USB interface turns off, rendering the KB/Mouse inoperable.

Strangely, the USB function can temporarily be restored by physically disconnecting the cables, waiting a few seconds, then plugging them back in. The KB/Mouse will function for about 5 seconds, then turns off again.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Ubuntu 15.04 is EOL (end of life) and no longer supported in any way. I suggest you wipe the install off and do a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04

16.04 (codenamed Trusty) is LTS and supported until April 2021

Can you help with this problem?
