After installing Xfce and Cinnanom there is a sidebar on the desktop that is non-removable

Asked by chris pollock

I installed Xfce and Cinnamon this afternoon. After logging back in I can't get ride of this sidebar for some reason. This is Ubuntu 16.04.1, Gnome 3.18.3 Here's a screenshot - https://www.flickr.com/photos/74879497@N02/albums/72157672832045596 What's causing this and how can I remove it?

I have managed to use KDocker to hide this sidebar but I'm still not quite sure which WM it is a part of.

It looks like docky in the screenshot. Do you use docky? Is it installed?

I believe this shows it's not installed

chris@localhost:~$ apt-cache policy docky
docky:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 2.2.1.1-1
  Version table:
     2.2.1.1-1 500
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe i386 Packages

Could what I show in the screenshot be part of Cinnamon or Xfce possibly?

I forgot to add in the above comment that none of the icons on the sidebar work.

The bar in question is 'wbar'. Not sure which WM it belongs to still but I just 'pgrep wbar' and kill the process for now. Have to say this is solved with the work-around. Google shows it belongs to Openbox and it appears it can be manually installed or removed.
