Sis 3D video driver

Asked by Prod

Hello.
I have installed the latest Xubuntu a week ago and I'm very happy with it. I have only one big problem: 3D graphics are very very slow, like 1 fps or less. I' My notebook has an integrated Sis M661FX video chip. I've been searching for a driver, but I couldn't find anything. Could someone please help me with this?

There is no Official 3D driver from SiS in the Ubuntu repositories, as far as I know, but there was talk that they were going to release a 3D driver.

You should be able to download a 2D driver but the mysterious 3D driver seems to be harder to locate.

This may help you.

Thank you very much for the answer!
It seems I'm going to replace the notebook with one that has a common video card.
