Jared, Please post what grub error you are receiving (if any) and the steps you took that placed you in this position. IE walk us through the history of what you have done to the pc, which operating system was installed first, if you partitioned or if you used WUBI.

This information will better help us to get you sorted out.

can you get into server 2000 OK? If so great that is ok,no mess ups there. but it sounds like you were running from the Ubuntu disc not the installation, Did you install it?
But if you want XP installed as well, install it before Ubuntu, I have found having a second HDD to install Ubuntu is best.
I have 4 OS on my computer 98se, XP, Vista, and the best of them all Ubuntu. I have the 3 windows on 1 80gb HDD and Ubuntu on an other 80gb HDD. and have no problems though I have had them all on 1 HDD, once you have install XP, insert the Ubuntu disc (while run in XP) and install it from there, it will use the same HDD and thats ok.
hope this helps
Neil

Hi again
I take it that you have nothing on Ubuntu so if it gets wiped it wont matter at this point.
What I did is install 98se first and worked up to the newer windows and then Ubuntu.
ok you have server, you will need to make an other partition on your HDD to install XP.
I used paragon partition manager 8.5 special edition
http://www.globalshareware.com/Utilities/File-Disk-Management/Paragon-Partition-Manager-Personal-Edition.html
this is 1 download but try and register in for free I did as it is an older program.
(I got it from a PC mag) or if you have another program great. ( but have a good look for it, it is a great program)

after you have made the new partition for XP boot from the disc and install it on the new partition.
(you can name that partition with the program so call it winxp, easer to find that way)

then you can install Ubuntu either from the disc on boot up or inside xp or i guess server.
that is up to you. as I said I have a second HDD for Ubuntu if you do the same, best to boot from the disc and install it to the new HDD.
Hope this helps
Neil
